Brrrr, Winter is here in Australia and I find myself immediately reaching for my track pants and ugg boots, curling up on the couch with a cup of tea (or red wine!) and never wanting to leave, which is fine... if I don't intend on socialising all Winter (We've been there, done that 2020, am I right?!) Plus, as a mum of a two year old, I NEED TO GET OUT THE HOUSE.
I'm here to walk you through the top winter trends that will have you feeling comfortable and cosy, all while looking great and keeping things affordable. What more could you want?! Let's start with my favourite winter items:
1. KNITS
If you're like me and find it impossible to go past a good knit, you're in luck as knits are still on trend this year (please never go away!) The one thing I am seeing this winter is COLOUR which makes me happy. Winter is dull enough without your wardrobe joining in. One of my top picks is the Lexi Knit by Betty Basics. This little beauty has a slight peplum waist which is great for maternity wear that isn't 'specifically' maternity and can easily be worn years after you pop that baby out! My favourtie colour is this style is Floss Candy Pink. Wearing pink seems to make me instantly happy! The Lexi Knit is also available in Grey Marle and of course, BLACK.
Another best selling style is the Jemima Knit by Betty Basics which is available in two gorgeous colours. Thyme is a beautiful dark teal colour which looks great with denim jeans or as I prefer to wear it, layered with a tank and leggings. The second colour is Amber which is a bright mustard. The fit of this jumper is great, quite boxy and a little bit oversized. It is made from a wool blend fabrication too adding that extra bit of cosy!
2. PUFFER JACKETS
The puffer jacket trend is still going strong into 2021. Nude Lucy have nailed this with their Topher Puffer Jacket in Coal. By buying this jacket, you are also doing your part for the environment as it is made from 100% recycled fabrics, how cool is that!
Another fantastic puffer option is the Rylie Puffer by Betty Basics. This beauty is under $100 which makes it a great option if you aren't so sure on them but are keen to try something out. It has zips at the side which make it easy to layer underneath or give you some extra room (pregnant mamas, I'm looking at you!). Perfect for those early mornings watching kids sport or to throw on over some leggings.
3. CORDUROY
If you're like me, thinking of corduroy instantly takes me back to my 90's childhood and I absolutely LOVE that. Once again, Nude Lucy have come through with the goods by creating the Binx Long Line Cord Jacket. This jacket is an oversized boyfriend fit which of course instantly means COMFORTABLE! The fabrication is quite heavy which makes it really warm to wear. One of my personal favourite things about it is that it covers the bum! This jacket will make you instantly feel like a 'cool mum' - well, that's what it does for me anyway! Nude Lucy have also blended two trends together with the Brodie Crop Cord Puffer Jacket - A CORD PUFFER! The warmth in this jacket is unbelievable. It looks great worn back with some high waisted jeans or over dresses for those Winter wine tours or long lunches.
Well, that is it from me for now. I can honestly say I LOVE Winter fashion and feel the outfit possibilities are endless. I have created The Pink Bass to make shopping simple and easy for women (Mum's especially) to shop with ease and know anything the select will be on trend and make them look and feel great!
